The Embassy was established in Amman to advance Philippine national interests by promoting and strengthening bilateral relations with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the areas of political and security cooperation, labor, trade, investment, tourism, culture, and other areas of mutual benefit. In the coming years, the Embassy will focus more closely on expanding economic cooperation between the countries as there is still much untapped potential for both countries to gain from.

The Philippines views Jordan as a country of primary strategic significance in the region given its geographic location and the major role it has played as a voice of moderation throughout the complicated modern history of the Middle East. The Philippines also looks to build closer ties with Jordan through cooperation on various interfaith initiatives, which both countries view as crucial in promoting greater understanding among civilizations and critical toward achieving a just and lasting peace in the troubled parts of the world.

Aside from its diplomatic mission, the Embassy is also tasked to provide consular services to the growing Filipino community in Jordan, as well as to assist Filipino citizens under its jurisdiction.

The Philippine Overseas Labor Office carries out an integral aspect of the Embassy's mission by coordinating with relevant authorities of the host government and with other missions and international organizations to ensure that the rights and welfare of Filipino workers in Jordan are respected and protected in accordance with international obligations, bilateral agreements, and the national legal and regulatory system.

The Embassy is resident in and is accredited to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and thus has primary responsibility for relations between the Philippines and Jordan. The Embassy also has concurrent responsibility in a non-resident capacity over Philippine relations with the Palestinian Authority (West Bank and Gaza).
