Issuance of Overseas Employment Certificate

The Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) is a requirement under the rules and regulations of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) to help ensure that overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), in particular those employed as household service workers), are properly documented and protected.

In view of the continuing implementation of the temporary suspension in the deployment of household service workers (HSWs) to Jordan, all OFWs in Jordan who are planning to go home to the Philippines for a vacation leave are reminded to secure an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) prior to their travel to avoid possible complications at Philippine international airports when they return to Jordan.

Requirements for Vacationing Household Service Workers (HSWs)

The following are the requirements to be complied with and submitted to POLO-Amman to obtain an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC):

  1. Duly accomplished employment contract for HSWs;
  2. Affidavit of Undertaking signed by the employer;
  3. Employer Information Sheet;
  4. Original Philippine passport of the worker with visa stamp and eqama;
  5. Valid work and residence permit;
  6. Valid insurance policy;
  7. Valid OWWA membership (i.e. official receipt and certificate of coverage);
  8. Photocopy of the passport of the employer;
  9. Three (3) photos each of the employer and worker

Requirements for other OFWs (Balik-Manggagawa)

  1. Certificate of Employment issued by company or employer;
  2. Original Philippine passport of the worker with visa stamp and eqama;
  3. Valid work and residence permit;
  4. Valid insurance policy;
  5. Valid OWWA membership (i.e. official receipt and certificate of coverage)
