The Philippine Embassy in Amman once again participated in the Annual International Bazaar last 13 October 2012, at Al Hussein Youth City. The annual event, which is held under the patronage of HRH Princess Basma Bint Talal and participated in by around eighty (80) Diplomatic Missions accredited to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, was able to generate funds for the children of Mabarrat Um Al Hussein. The Annual International Bazaar is one of the biggest sources of financial support for the Um Al Hussein Foundation.
The Embassy of the Philippines put up two booths, one to showcase Philippine products, the other to sell Filipino food such as puto, biko, maja blanca, yema, salabat (ginger tea), mango puree with sago and kwek-kwek. Philippine products made of capiz, sea shells, hand-woven items and stone accessories were showcased at the dry goods booth.
The Bazaar was highlighted by the visit of Her Royal Highness Princess Basma Bint Tal, who toured and bought several items from each booth.
The whole-day event was supported by all the Embassy staff, including POLO/OWWA, and their families.
